There is no longer bright yellow and bandaid orange in our family room And kitchen! Hooray!
Mega Griege by sherwin Williams made me a happier person! Loving the clean, neutral walls, sans chair rail!
Our kitchen sink has looked like this since moving in:
Not cool. Not cool at all.
So I did a little pinterest education, and stumbled upon this blog with a perfect how-to for cleaning a porcelain sink. With just 3 ingredients our sink went from this to this:
1. Scrub with dishwasher detergent
2. Bleach it!
3. Scrub with the magical and new-to-me Bar Cleaner’s Friend Soft Cleanser
Donzo! and Cleanzo!
Before and After:
No, no major construction project, but a new little fluff ball just joined the home! Izzy is our new two pound yorkiepoo and she is loving frankteriors (though we will see how much she likes it after her first morning without Matt or I around). Once we decided this was definitely something we wanted to do, we called Susan at pepups.net and luckily Jillian (original name) was still available! Six of her seven siblings were already accounted for, but the one and only golden pup was just meant to be a Frank! It was love at first site!
Car ride home from New Richland
Picking up all the puppy essentials!
Exploring the front yard
Meeting Auntie Winnie and Lou
Meeting cousin Alice, which quickly went from “okay I kinda like this fluff ball” to “get her the heck away from me”
Taking down the wallpaper was a much bigger feat than anticipated. This is some seriously tedious business and it’s something I never want to do again. With that said, it was a was quite a sense of accomplishment! The same Sunday afternoon as the Twin Cities marathon, I spent four plus hours scrapping away and I honestly couldn’t decide what was mentally harder – four hours of running or four hours of staring at the wall! In any case, it’s officially done! Not going to lie, we don’t LOVE the color, but it’s a huge improvement nonetheless.
We needed some functional accessories for our new entryway table. I love all the lamps at pottery barn, but we’ve been dishing out money left and right. So with a budget savvy mind, I reached out to my one and only Pinterest!
I found a lot of iterations of the example below, made a trip to goodwill, and $5 later I was ready to get crafty.
First I cleaned, the primed, then painted with two coats of Behr premium paint. I also had a lamp shade from over a year ago that I got on clearance from target, and it fit just right:) A match meant to be!
We made significant progress on our dining room, which we’ve turned into our entryway for the time being. Now time to get a new light fixture, stat. We’ve hit our heads on it numerous times, and the style definitely isn’t out jive.
