After 10 days of living without any furniture on our main floor and a few sleep overs at my parents house, our main floor new hardwood flooring is complete! We went with Early American and I am happy with that decision. While tempting to go with a darker stain, I think this stain fits well with the style of our house and looks like a fancied up version of what could be the original flooring. UB hardwoods was A+ and I’d recommend them in a heartbeat for anyone else needing floors refinished or installed.
The crew is making more progress on the floor installation. By Friday, they had all the wood down and added samples of the different stains so we could make a final decision on the color. Yikes, I didn’t think this would be such a hard decision. I’ve seriously been dreaming about shades of brown…
The crew started on the carpet removal yesterday and already laid out some of the hardwood. I feel like our house is going to feel bigger with the main floor having consistent flooring. Continue reading “The Destruction Begins and a Garden Update”

I downloaded a new app to show before and after photos (and progress in between). Check it out:
It’s been none stop painting over here, but I’m happy to report that I am finally done painting the cabinets AND even fit in painting the walls. This room is coming together and I’m so excited to next add in the hardwood floors.
