Welcoming May and our First Attempts at Lawn Care

The first of May spurted our introductory season to lawn care!

Our lawn was covered with those beautiful, yet unwanted, dandelions. But luckily, none of those large and prickly weeds came back from last years. Matt’s weed-be-gone treatment did the trick!

Along our way to Home Depot, we stopped by a church rummage sale. I spotted the dresser below from afar and was excited to try my hands at a furniture makeover. It was already sold though… Matt, on the other hand, found a cool assortment of old golf clubs that he wants to display somehow in the basement. For $10, I said go for it!

Our Home Depot loot included 15+ assorted flowers (I already forgot the names), potting soil, grass seed, 8 bags of mulch, grass seed spreader (I’m sure there is an official name for it) and then an assortment of car cleaning products.

Then off we went to work! Cutting, weeding, planting, mulching, watering, and hauling, with a lot of country music and video game podcasts. Guess who listened to which?!

And we wrapped up the weekend with the best pork chops and grilled veggies and a half marathon Sunday morning!
